I used to swear by ABSA and was a client of theirs for over 15 years and then one day I hit unexpected financial difficulty and fell behind on overdraft payments, car repayments and credit card payments. They came down on me like a ton of bricks! It was hell on earth and they made me feel like a criminal. Never again.... NEVER! Thankfully my bank balance is more than healthy again these days and respek to FNB for the understanding help I have received from them. I rate the true test of a bank is how they deal with clients in times of financial trouble.

2. Small business complain that they charge R90 a month for internet banking = wtf!?
3. Nonprofit organizations will even be eaten by ABSA’s charges!
4. I’ve NEVER heard anyone say they LIKE ABSA.

But, you’re right, it isn’t worth changing banks. If all your contacts & payments/debits are linked, it will be a mission.
& if the bank charges difference are such a small percentage of you balance, it shouldn’t be a problem.

All banks suck. Standard Bank just sucks the least :)
