The last couple of weeks have got me explaining “how does this web thing work?” and “I also want a website like yours, so that I can also write stuff.” to some of my friends and family. So I’ve decided to start The Internet Series - a step-by-step guide on getting connected.

I dont have anything specific planned, but Im going to need a starting point. So I will start at the point where you have and understand the following:

• You have an internet connection, and you have some knowledge on how to browse the web and use Internet Explorer.
• You have or share an email address, or you really want to use email, but not sure where to start. Obviously an understanding of the basics of email is needed.

Not much to it, hey? Ok, so we have a basis of which to launch off. But who the hell wants to read it?

• You want to learn how to search the web better. I mean, this internet, she is a behemoth!
• Email! How to better use email, whether free or paid for, web based or desktop based.
• You want to also have a website with a cool email address like mine! whateveryouwant@jasonbagley.com
• You want to write things on your website without having to be a geek to do it. You want to put pictures on it, and allow all your family and friends see whats happening in your life.
• You also might want to make some money of your website. Hey, trust me, its not that difficult.
• And lastly, you dont want all of this to cost an arm and a leg. Almost all of it can be done for free.

So hold tight. It will be lots of fun, and Im hoping to learn along the way aswell!
