I, Jason, AKA The Bagley, went on off to my very first 27 dinner last night at The Wild Fig in Obs. As I arrived, I spotted Adii in his new Corolla pulling up and having never met him before, we hit it off from the get go. He also presented one of the topics of the evening with regards to his Wordpress Premium Themes business. Very interesting and thought provoking. It just shows you that simple ideas can turn into massive money spinners if you just put your mind to it.
I was pretty lucky to actually attend, as the dinner had a guest list of 50 people, and at the beginning of the day I was sitting at no.7 on the waiting list. By some luck and chance, people pulled out at the last minute and I managed to slip in!
I met up with the “cool cats” Charl and Foxinni once again and there is always some trash talking going on when these okes are around. Also sitting at our makeshift table (we got to the room late, so were left standing for a while) was Mike Stopforth. We had some interesting chats about Demo ‘08 that he attended as well as Mix08 in Las Vegas he is leaving for on Sunday. Lucky Bastard! I also met up with Dave Duarte who seems to have way to much energy! How does it manage to do it all?! Some other people I met in person for the first time where Gavin and Shelly Levin from Traffic Synergy, Catherine Lückhoff, Graham Knox and Shane Wilson from Stormhoek as well as Fred Roed from Ideate. Henk from Sky(g)rove made a late appearance and was good to see him again. Graham gave us a brief (well he tried to be brief!) about Stormhoek own a vine, save a job initiative, and as always there was plenty of their wine flowing last night.
A big thanks to Dave, Stormhoek, The Wild Fig and the sponsors for a really lekka evening. Also a big thanks to Cerebra for picking up the dinner bill. :-)
As a side note, “The Bagley” is becoming synonymous with me of late and as you can see from the pic, it started in 1997! So, with a redesign of this blog in the making, you can just guess how its going to turn out. ;-) My personal brand is born.
