It’s sport! Do you enjoy motor racing, boxing, wrestling, swimming, diving, skiing? they all need skill specifics lad… I played baseball and cricket… i’ve achieved at both my boy…
Why attack people’s looks and not their capabilities? It’s a forum brother, so you allowed to say anything at any time, but to pursue blatant assault on how these guys look? How do you look? I’m willing to bet you’re not the ironman type!
And in your last comment, ” if i ever see a baseball player in front of me then i would slap him in the face or kick his ass.” My friend, you must think you are invincible…
I don’t know where you are from, but I’d be happy to show up on your doorstep looking for that slap! I promise you that it won’t end up in a story you’ll tell your grand kids…

In literature Baseball was first mentioned in 1817 in the first chapter of Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey when a bunch of posh English “ladies” played it. Thankfully the English realised this was a game for girls and ended up playing cricket instead.

I must also say that baseball is a mental sport. You must know exactly what to do in every possible situation. You have to keep in mind what kind of hitter is at the plate, what the count is, how many outs there are, where the ball will go depending on where it is hit, ect. You have to have a lot on your mind.

I’m seeing some very ignorant comments. People are saying that baseball or cricket requires no skill. You will never know that until you play both sports and fully experience them. I know that baseball is not an easy sport. I have never played cricket, but until I have, I will not assume that baseball is more difficult. I think that the reason most people are saying these things is because they know very little about the other sport.

baseball players are so fat and unfit they look like lowsy clowns.
you say only professional can hit a baseball for home run .well i say a game in which all the bases were loaded and alex rodriques was on strike and he couldnt even touch the ball.so that justifies it the batters in the baseball just throw there bat at every thing and if they are lucky 1 out of 10000000 time they strike it for home run.now whats so skill full in that .a school boy child could do that.

hey i think baseball is boring because it doesnt require any skill.some people argue that it is hard to hit a baseball with a round bat and say that we ordinary people cant do it and only professional can do it .but have seen games where they cant even contact the ball for a single time in the sweet spot.all they do is leave some ,edge some and slug and get out or get striked out.whoever invented baseball is a real ass hole.by the way who idiot invented those round bats .if your intention is really to hit the ball then the equipment should be also according to that.

you thing playing cricket is easy. then my friend go to the pitch and face shaun tait throwing the ball at 95 miles an hour trying to take your head off with a bouncy ball. and in base ball all the balls are thrown directly without bouncing. in cricket its called a full toss . the bats man will hit you where ever he wants for such a delivery. and the lets talk about the slow ballers. i dont think you have watched shane warne or murali bowl. how will you hit the ball if it turning miles and you dont know which way its turning. it requires specific skills to play such balls. and in base ball the only technique while batting is smash the ball as hard as you can.

i bet Sachin can hit all those full toss 95 miles hour ball for 6 ‘s all the time.
why americans like baseball is they dont have anything to do exccept sex that is what the baseball players do fuck their own asses.baseball is shit hole .it is the worst game on planet.if i ever see a baseball player in front of me then i would slap him in the face or kick his ass.

and cricket was invented far more early than baseball so i have to say they tried to copy the game and make it different which actually became rubbish.

so all the baseball fans throw your baseball bats away and play some real game.. got it.

I tottally disagree with this yeah may be boring to watch but most you people who say it takes no skill go play basbeball and then you tell me if it takes no skill you hae to be on your toes the whol time and know what to do and when to do it other wise your screwed

hey jeremy… well said… 2 things tho… in cricket, fielding is a breeze as i’m sure you can relate due to playing baseball… even without a glove… however, the hitting side of cricket is also an art hey… it’s actually not that easy… I too thought the transition from baseball to cricket would be easy… but, you have to contend with a bouncing ball, an uneven pitch maybe, movement, deviation… to mention buit afew… I assure you it’s not that simple… What I can say, having played baseball equips you with some of the skill needed to hit the hell out of a cricket ball… that’s why i enjoyed cricket… to see how far you can hit the ball with a rectangular piece of would… LOL!

And on the 360 degree hitting subject, baseball DOES have this. Fouling off pitches is a very important part of hitting is baseball. While you don’t get to run when you hit them, they are critical when a pitcher throws a good pitch such as a hard low and away slider with two strikes. I personally foul off pitches until I get one I can hit fair. All this must be done in a few tenths of a second with a round long narrow bat, not a pickleball paddle like cricketers use. Plus my buddy Ed down the street makes my bats, which means baseball is way better ;)

Baseball takes no skill? Anybody who says that obviously knows nothing about baseball. The reason why they use mitts is because it would be IMPOSSIBLE to make defensive plays without it. Even something as simple as throwing from Shortstop to First base would break a players hand without a mitt, much less a line drive right at you. If you think otherwise, you are an ignorant fool. I play adult league baseball so i KNOW WTF I am talking about. No defense? Baseball has WAY more complex defensive plays than cricket. In cricket, it’s solely about getting the ball back to the wicket. In baseball there are infinite defensive situations which a player must be aware of. Examples, runners on 1st and 3rd, one out, what do you do……..? Runner on second, hard line drive in the gap, runner going home, what do you do…….? One run game, leadoff hitter gets on, bottom of the 7th, what might happen…….? Ground ball between 1st and 2nd, 1st baseman goes to field it, who covers first base……? Cricket has NO complexity on defense other than where to position the players. Baseball players must relay, make double plays, catch, throw, tag, and get the ball to the right base at the right time. Oh, and baseball players don’t put on more pads than an American Football player when they go to the plate like cricketers when they stand in. Baseball players face 90mph naked. I guarantee you I could start playing cricket RIGHT NOW and KICK SOME A$$ at it. All you cricketers dissing on baseball can just STFU.
