I'm also stuck on a ball of shi* Vista operated laptop that I expressly requested XP on. When I got it with Vista I thought I'd give it a whirl, and now more than a year later, I would say that XP is still better.

Booting up and reboot times alone, not to mention the power management, the resource usage, the crashing of apps, the limited ability of their built in apps. etc. etc. I can't even write a disk on my Vista machine. I have to put them on my desktop machine and write from there.

Ubuntu would be great if I could run my Adobe apps on there, so until then, it looks like Mac for me. Once I can afford another laptop.

Another one of Microsofts efforts gone wrong. I fear that they try to hard to be like the other guys with fancy buttons and windows that they have forgotten about the core.

Reminds me of Adobe - http://dearadobe.com/top_rated.php

Anyway - now most machines that ship with a pre-installed versions of Vista have XP downgrade disks bundled.

That truly sucks the bucket!

I'm sticking with my XP for now. My next PC will most likely run Ubuntu, but I'm not switching to Linux until Google Chrome runs on that OS.

Mac will never be an option for me. Unless they open source their operating system.

Ditto for Windows actually. If they decided to open source Windows, my desire to drop Microsoft products would change over night.
