K-day on the 15th of November can be summed up as one huge picnic with some great live music. I wasn’t overly blown away by the performances of the bands, but throw in a day of relaxation under the sun and you have a really good combination. However, there is a but…

The Umbrellas

You see, at a picnic people bring umbrellas. So when you decide to put up your umbrella, people behind you cant really see the stage.

So, put this together with some free flowing booze and add the sun and you have a cocktail just ready to get peoples’ blood boiling. Watch the video below of some of the confrontations I managed to record during K-Day!

    Dude – Joburg day up in JHB is a very similar event. However I must tell you, twice ive been for whole days and not a single fight, not one. So I think you cape-folk are the highly strung, agitated ones, not us Vallies! :)

    Hi there, sorry I couldn’t view that video :(
    Fortunately didn’t experience to much hassle with umbrellas at the concert, the people around us seemed considerate enough to lower them whilst the acts were on. Had a fantastic time … geez it was hot though! ;-)
